I have been wanting to try Michael's inside the Southpoint for quite sometime now. It is the most fabulous restaurant in the casino and I had heard I was missing out by not dining there. A lucky roll made our night and we won a complimentary dinner for two! How awesome is that?!
On our last night in Vegas we made 6:30 reservations and sat down at a beautiful booth. We were greeted by a relish tray to get our appetites going! My favorites were the hard boiled quail eggs, baby beets and jicama.
We also started our meal off with cocktails! Martini for me, Tonic for him.
Appetizers were started and Scott decided on the lobster cocktail - How beautiful is this presentation?! It was filled to the brim with sweet tail meat. A meal in itself!
I went for my standard Crab Cake and I was thrilled that I did. It was the best, and biggest, I have had in my memory. I would return and order this my dinner and be completely satisfied. At this point in the meal i felt like I had died and went to heaven.
That is when we got a surprise! Cowboy Ron knew we were having dinner in the restaurant so he called in and had our waiter treat us to a fantastic bottle of Flowers Pinot Noir. Cowboy Ron is just too cool! Cheers!
When I saw Dover Sole on the menu I just had to have it. I wanted to try it made by the best of the best and I was glad that I did. I ate and ate until my jeans said stop! It was a huge portion so I hardly made a dent into my entree.
Scott ordered a filet and he said it was just delicious. It was topped with a mushroom, at first I thought it was foie gras and I was getting a little jealous! We had shoe string potatoes, also known as french fries, served as a side. Bernaise served with the steak served as a great dipping sauce for our fries! Yum.
Wait! There is more. Bananas Foster made tables side? Yes, please.
Perfect dessert.
Chocolate and fruit were served to help us finish up our bottle of wine. What a perfect ending to a lovely meal. It was a long one, leisurely served and delicately eaten. I have not experienced an experience like this is a long, long time. Kudos to you Michael's!
